Amazon is seeking Operation Manager for its Transportation team. In this role you will working closely with fulfillment centers (FCs) and sort centers (SCs), last mile (LMs), logistic partners and other stakeholders for smooth management of line haul operations across Amazon's middle mile network. The L3 manager will be the first POC for any operational escalation and will engage with the right stakeholders to resolve the issue & prevent recurrence. Apart from handling people (team of PA), the L3 manager will also drive deployment of solutions coming out from various improvement initiatives viz. VRID hygiene, Accruals improvement, In-transit loss reduction, Developing safety culture for Drivers, Truck Utilization improvement, New projects (Totes, PFS) etc. at zonal level.

The candidate should have a basic understanding of the logistics space and should be able to communicate clearly in the written and oral form. She/he should be able to come up with process improvements drive them through completion.

  1. Managing a line haul trucking operation and carrier partners to drive operational performance
  2. Developing and/or referring to performance metrics to drive team performance and business results.
  3. Identifying the business impact of trends and making data backed decisions.
  4. Communicating with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Finance, Ops Excellence, Fulfillment Centers)
  5. Escalating problems or variances in the information and data to the relevant owners and following through on resolutions.
  6. Ability to pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL and/or other data management systems) and to perform ad hoc reporting and analysis, as needed, is a plus.

Essential Functions

  1. Defining, building and responsible for the execution of transportation processes, right from FC to customers and leveraging our Sort Center network.
  2. Managing trucking operation and operational metrics, collaborate with carrier to drive operational excellence.
  3. Coordinate with Relay Ops, SC, FC, LM , Planning & finance team to project related to trucking operation with project ranging from cost optimization, speed, to safety etc.
  4. Continuously improve the LH trucking process and attain a sustained level of performance standard. Initiates improvements to enhance quality standards, reduce waste, and eliminate unnecessary work.
  5. Analysis of the data reports to identify performance bottlenecks and improve the performance.

Basic Qualifications
